Week 076 - The Peeps Of Argentina Grab Their Lawn Chairs, Take A Seat, Drink A Mate And Watch The Show

Hola Fam,

Wow, Tustin is killing it, total stud! Sweet times. I’m sorry back at home it was so lame. It’s a great week to get on a Netflix marathon. Hopefully Netflix is still grooving. No one uses Netflix here. It’s all cable....soccer and Simpsons cable.

My week was pretty interesting, it started off with this crazy, and beyond crazy, less active family. We just found them one day and they love to listen to the missionaries and stuff. But they have one child in their family who is not trained right. I’ve never raised a kid before but at the age of 6 I don’t think you should have one of the foulest mouths in town. This kid cusses a storm, and parents say they don’t know how to stop the madness. by the way I do know my fair share of bad words, you got to know these things because someone in going to get really mad at you one day and if you’re the idiot that has no idea what they are saying you’re just going to keep smiling saying "Ok yeah, ok yeah". Anyways not only cant this kid keep his mouth shut, but he can’t keep his clothes on either. so he’s just running around naked and his mom´s like "oh Marcelo, put your clothes on you crazy kid" I’m kind of whatever about these things but the thing that got to me the most was the fact that he just started going number 1 on the floor right next to me. Somebody please stop the madness.

We visited another inactive couple, they are actually quite elderly and went to church for 4 years before they got baptized and then right after they got baptized they decided to stop. Well why’d you stop. They stopped because they achieved their goal of getting baptized. errrrrrr wrong. Guys you can’t just stop when you just started. I don’t think they ever had the opportunity of going to the temple. So we are going to help them get yeah x3 Chris brown kind of pumped for the temple. But man these guys talk and talk and talk. They are the king and queen of talking. And they are cutting each other off whenever they get a chance, so I have no time to cut them off ever. I sat for an entire hour listening to them go off about what’s good political wise in the country of Argentina. Interesting. But they are wonderful people, super nice and invited us over for lunch. That’s what I like to hear.

Throwback to Recreo. I was walking down my favorite highway when WOAH, WOAH, there was this huge wildfire coving the fields next to the highway. So like always, all the peeps of Argentina grab all their lawn chairs, take a seat, drink a mate, and watch the show. FREE ENTERTAINMENT. (There were no animals killed in the production)

We have a new friend investigating the church, one of those classic evangelist. A real fan for Jesus and the Holy Ghost. We asked him to say the prayer, because we just taught him how to pray. I guess it didn’t really get to him because he just took our hands, told us how much he loved us and, and yelled to god saying "OH GIVE THESE MEN THE HOLY SPIRIT, GIVE IT TO THEM, GIVE IT TO THEM" and then he finished the prayer and asked "did you guys feel it, did you feel the flames". What dude like the flames of hell. He’s a work in progress.

I think I mentioned that we are teaching this very kind family who are recently being reactivated to the church. We are helping their daughter Erika to come to baptism. But they are so awesome. They used to be really shy but they have really become opened to expressing their feeling and being active in the church. They’ve come 4 times now to church and they are 5 people so it’s like half the branch. Sweet. She makes the best noquis, if don’t know what noquis are, it’s alright I don’t really know either, but they taste way good. I’ll have to learn and make them after the mish.

I’ve been pondering "The Parable of the Frosted Flakes" hopefully you guys can get as much insight as I did #jesustalks

The parable of the Frosted Flakes:
1. And it came to pass that Jesus spake unto his disciples saying:
2. Behold in a certain land there lived a young man, who was an hungered.
3. And behold, he went to his kitchen and did hunt for food.
4. And lo, to his great delight, in the cupboard he did find a box of Frosted Flakes, and did feast, and was merry.
5. And it came to pass on the morrow he did likewise eat.
6. And thus, for many days, he did partake, and was glad.
7. But behold, after many days, he did open the cupboard and did find, to his great astonishment, corn flakes.
8. And he was greatly displeased
9. But, faint for want of food, he did find a bowl and a spoon, and did partake.
10. And thus he did eat corn flakes.
11. And for many days he did eat corn flakes even until he did verily begin to like them.
12. And it came to pass the each morning he did verily anticipate his corn flakes
13. Until in one morning lo and behold he did open the cupboard and did find to his great astonishment both corn flakes and Frosted Flakes.
14. And Jesus turned to his disciples and said, and which shall he partake?
15. And the disciples answered saying, of the Frosted Flakes.
16. And Jesus spake unto them saying, rightly ye spake for behold Frosted Flakes taste better.
17. And it came to pass that the apostles where greatly confused and did ponder this parable of the Frosted Flakes.
18. And in the night they did ask Jesus saying, reveal unto us this parable of the Frosted Flakes.
19. And Jesus answered saying verily, verily I say unto you
20. The young man of whom I speak behold he is a missionary sent to a far away land.
21. And again the Frosted Flakes are the girls in the land of his birth.
22. And again the corn flakes are the girls in the land of his journeys
23. Behold I say unto you, after many days the cornflakes may begin to be delicious unto you,
24. But remember my servants, remember in the land of thy youth, there are Frosted Flakes.

I love you guys so much! I pray for you guys always. You’re great!

You might remember about a year ago when I had to go to Rincon for an open chapel, back in the Galvez days. Elder Mckell and I went out to look for people to bring back to come see the chapel. and we found Raul walking very slow in the plaza. and so we talked and invited him, and walked with him to the chapel. and in the presentation he was asked to be baptized, and he agreed. Well, later he recieved the lessons by Elder Hopkins and his companion, and Raul was baptized 4 weeks later. I had known he agreed to baptism, but I never knew what had happend, and I was really glad to hear that he was baptized, but not only that, he's actually been going through some serioously problems in his life. he'd lost His family and home and was practically homeless, and went to the plaza to think about commiting suicide. So I was very glad to hear of the changes he made and is keeping to this day.
